CLOSED - INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY - PENAL REFORM PROGRAMME
Lawyers for Human Rights is inviting applications from law students and graduates with an interest in human rights law and public interest litigation to apply for the volunteer internship programme in the Penal Reform Programe (PRP) based at the Johannesburg Law Clinic. The PRP engages in strategic litigation for the purpose of the protection of inmates’ rights. Interns may be required to attend correctional centres for the purpose of consultations.
Please note that our internship programme is fully unpaid and is full-time.
Requirements:
- penultimate or final year law students
- LLB graduates
- available for a minimum of three months
Skills and attributes:
- proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Word and Excel)
- legal research and writing skills
- solid communication skills
- adaptability and willingness to learn
- driving licence preferred
